Fiverr® is the world’s largest marketplace for services. A service offered on Fiverr is called a Gig®.

Buyers pay Fiverr for orders in advance. Sellers keep 80% of each Gig they sell and successfully deliver. For example, each $5 Gig you sell and successfully deliver, accredits your account with a net revenue of $4. Fiverr accredits sellers once an order is completed.

Upwork is a great place to find more clients, and to run and grow your own freelance business. On Upwork, you run your own business and choose your own clients and projects. Clients post jobs in hundreds of skill categories.

Scoopshot Pro is a new service for professional photographers. With Scoopshot Pro, you can receive photo assignments from the media based on your location.

99 Designs logo

99designs is the world’s leading design contest marketplace, powered by a massive community of designers and business owners. 

Clients write a design brief and name the cash prize for the winning designer. Designers from all over the globe can submit their design that meets the brief. The client then chooses the ones they like best and give feedback and direction to the designers to refine the design. 

Once they have a favourite design, they choose a competition winner. If you win the competition you then transfer the copyright for the design to the client. Once that's done, 99designs will credit the prize to your account. 

Once you’ve received the credits, you can transfer the money into your account using Payoneer, Paypal or Skrill.

99designs allows you to choose which contests you pitch for and when giving you flexibility in your hours.

Stellar Home connects people with a wide range of professionals including home cleaning, and laundry services, lawn and garden services, pet and car care, pest control, home beauty and health & fitness. 

You will need a police check, public liability insurance and an ABN number for them to list you on their site.

OzLance does not charge fees to freelancers.

OzLance currently provides opportunities for freelance writers, translators, mobile application developers, computer programmers, network administrators, website developers, web designers and graphic designers. However they are in the process of expanding their list of occupations.

Accutran Global provide work paid in both Canadian and US Dollars for realtime captioning, woicewriting, transcription and scoping. While it is a work from home position, the hours they require the work done is fairly specific and the workload varies significantly throughout the year. 

Pay is by the word and ranges from $0.004/word to $0.0055/word based on turnaround time. To calculate this on an audio per-minute basis, multiply by an average of 140 words a minute.
